About

Welcome to Divine Lines.

I’m Sherry Danner—former therapist, author of Nurturing the Light Inside: Overcoming Addiction and Codependency on the Path to Self-Love, and founder of Divine Lines.

I created Divine Lines as an experiment in what becomes possible when people of depth and discernment come together—not to fix or advise, but to stay awake inside the questions no one else can answer for us.

For me, this work began in survival. Like many women, I was shaped by the quiet violence of misogyny—taught to be accommodating, to measure my value by my appearance, and to seek safety through approval. Those messages sank in before I had language for them. Food and alcohol became my way to cope with what I couldn’t yet name: the loneliness, the pressure, the impossible standards. Over time, the numbing became its own kind of prison.

The years since have been devoted to recovery and reclamation—shedding inherited beliefs and remembering what it means to inhabit my own life. Pattern recognition became a spiritual practice: learning to see the subtle ways conditioning continues to steer perception and behavior, and how awareness itself can open a different path. Seeing my patterns clearly didn’t dissolve them, but it gave me agency—the ability to respond rather than repeat.

After years as a therapist and course creator, I wanted a space that honors what’s already been lived. I longed for a space where truth matters more than performance, where structure creates freedom, and where we can investigate individually but not alone.

These days, I’m interested in a way of belonging that’s not about fitting in but about showing up when we don’t have to—especially in a time when many are choosing self-protection over participation.

For me, Divine Lines names the sacred boundaries that shape a life: the choices, commitments, and refusals that define who we are and what we truly serve. It also points to the living lines that connect us—to one another, to the natural world, and to what is divine within and beyond us.

I no longer see awakening as an endpoint. It’s what happens when we stop numbing and start feeling again—when aliveness rushes in and we wonder what to do with all of it. Divine Lines is for those who are waking up after years of survival, growing stronger and more conscious by the day.

If that’s you, you’re welcome here—whether you join our explorations or simply stay close as the work unfolds.
